Why SLTBURN Is Priced the Way It Is — And What You're Actually Paying For

Let's have an honest conversation.
When you see a swimwear brand priced higher than what you'd find on a fast fashion site, Amazon, or even other popular LGBTQ+ brands, the first question is fair: what am I actually paying for?
With SLTBURN, that answer matters to us. When we explain it to friends or customers in person, it makes sense. So it only makes sense we share it with you as well.
Here's the thing, we're not a corporation. We're not mass-producing thousands of identical pieces in a warehouse somewhere in Asia from a pre-cut stencil. We're produced ethically from a small family owned business in Europe that has decades of premium wear experience.
We're a small, LGBTQ+-owned brand that built something from the ground up. I (Amir) literally picked 5 of my top complimented, best-fitting speedos out of the 200+ I owned, and together with Diogo, deconstructed each pair. We factored in everything, guys who are hung, guys with fat asses, guys with big balls, growers not showers — and rebuilt the swim brief from scratch. One that could withstand being washed without fading or changing in size and fit. Every dollar in our pricing reflects that process.
Here's exactly what goes into it.
Fabric That Actually Performs
Through this process, we quickly learned not all swimwear fabric is created equal. SLTBURN uses high-quality, sustainable Italian fabric with performance-grade material that holds its shape, resists fading in chlorine and saltwater, and moves with your body, not against it.

Cheap fabric pills, fades, and loses its elasticity after a few wears. Premium fabric is an investment in something that lasts multiple years, not just a weekend.
When you put on a pair of SLTBURN swim briefs or shorts, you feel the difference immediately. That's a material decision we made that costs more to produce, but is worth every cent to wear.
Design That's Built for the Community
SLTBURN wasn't designed in a boardroom trying to guess what gay men want. It was designed by gay men, for gay men, with cuts, colors, and silhouettes that reflect how our community actually dresses, moves, and shows up.
Both Diogo and I have worked for companies that were popular in the LGBTQ+ community but were completely run and operated by an all or majority straight staff. We know understand the irony in that.
With SLTBURN, that intentionality changes everything, it takes fittings, revisions, feedback loops, and a genuine understanding of the customer. And even other popular LGBTQ+ brands haven't actually been in the spaces where their pieces are worn.
I have. I've worn these styles and watched from the bar top, from the main stage at circuit events, from the after's pool party tucked away in the hills of Puerto Vallarta during Thanksgiving weekend, if you know you know. Every print, every cut, every colorway is deliberate.
You're not just buying a swimsuit. You're buying something designed specifically with us in mind.
Small Batch Production
SLTBURN operates in intentional, limited runs. We don't overproduce. That means when a style sells out, it's gone, and it also means every piece gets more attention during production than something cranked out by the tens of thousands.
Small batch production costs more per unit. Full stop. But it also means better quality control, less waste, and styles that feel exclusive because they actually are.
LGBTQ+-Owned, Community-Rooted
When you buy SLTBURN, your money stays in the community. We're not a brand that slaps a rainbow on something in June and calls it support. We live this. We plan to build events around it, we partner with LGBTQ+-owned businesses, and we reinvest back into the spaces and people that make this culture what it is.
That's not something you can put a price on, but it is something worth supporting.
The Experience Around the Brand
For us, SLTBURN isn't just a product. It's a presence. From our pop-up at Sidetrack to our exclusive retail partnership with Mens Room Chicago, we show up in the spaces that matter to our community.
When you wear SLTBURN, you're part of something. You're repping a brand that was built with intention, launched with energy, and is growing with purpose. That feeling comes with the price tag, and it's worth it.

The Bottom Line
Premium pricing isn't about charging more because we can. It's about charging what the product is actually worth, the materials, the craft, the community, and the care that goes into every piece.
Fast fashion is cheap for a reason. SLTBURN is priced the way it is for the same reason.
You deserve both quality and something that represents you. That's what we built.
